- מֵגֵףm. (גָּפַף or גּוּף) sealer of wine vessels. Y.Ab. Zar. V, 44d top שיתומהון דרבנן מעשה מ׳ (not מעש) the boring of which the Rabbis speak (Mish. V, 4) is the work of a professional sealer (requiring care and time).
